Over the course of several different classes creating posters became a very common occurrence. I've compiled three of the posters I have made in my classes below.
This poster was designed to be the first in a series of re-imagined posters. Pulp Fiction tells a story riddled with crime centered around two hitmen, a gang boss, his wife, a struggling boxer, and two dumb robbers. I focused on a strong middle line in the design that make the two elements of drugs and violence converge at the title of the film.
This poster was created in illustrator and uses small intricate details as well as big bold shapes to emulate the sophistication and grandeur of the Taj Mahal. I added in textures for the walkway, water, and bushes to add more dimenstion, as well as making the bigger shapes in the architecture stand out more.
A neologism is the combination of two words that create a new word. For this poster I combined the word “brew” with the word “Boujee” which came to be “brewjee.” I define brewjee as someone who spends too much time making coffee to fit to their taste or someone who has a very particular and very unnecessarily complicated coffee order. To represent this neologism, I photoshopped a yacht into a cup of coffee. I chose the font Tomarik because it closely resembles a fonts commonly seen in coffee houses.
